So Much Good News

Despite the pandemic I have been presented with many opportunities for sharing my work.
Happily, as more people are vaccinated, and locations are starting to open there are more chances to show work in person.

Most recently, my painting, Tectonic Shift, was juried into the 9th Annual Art Competition at the Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago.

I was excited to receive an Honorable Mention Award given out during the reception that took place on May 21st. Around 300 artists submitted work with approximately 900 works of art entered. 70 artists were chosen to exhibit their work, so it was a real honor to have received this award. In total 9 awards were given out, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and 6 honorable mentions. Jurors were Jeffrey Hirst and Yaounde Olu. Being able to attend the reception in person and see the show was a thrill after so many months of the pandemic.

In addition to getting the award, my painting was chosen for the cover of the show catalogue; an additional honor.

The show runs through July 2 for more information about the Bridgeport Arts Center: https://bridgeportart.com/fourth-floor-gallery/
